The article is devoted to the study of theoretical aspects of adaptive management of innovation and investment development of industrial enterprises in the context of ensuring economic security. The essence and content of the category of adaptability was studied. The components of the adaptability of an industrial enterprise and the guidelines for the adaptive management of innovation and investment development of industrial enterprises in the context of ensuring economic security are determined. It has been proven that adaptive management activity is impossible without organizational, technological and digital innovations, and the process of transition to a new balance requires adaptation to permanent changes in the external environment. According to the results of the study, according to the authors, adaptive management should be understood as a set of consistent and coordinated actions aimed at achieving and maintaining the optimal state of an industrial enterprise in the conditions of unpredictability of changes in the external environment through the identification of relevant areas of activity, increasing the level of flexibility, adaptability, integration, etc. It has been proven that the trends of the economic development of domestic industrial enterprises indicate the need for changes, first of all, in management systems and their direction towards innovation and investment development. It was determined that one of the main goals of the activity of industrial enterprises is their ability to adapt to the challenges of the internal and external environment, introducing adequate and timely management methods and approaches for the long-term and stable development of industrial enterprises, in other words, to achieve flexibility and adaptability of their functioning.
