Abstract

State regulation of the economy is an integral component of the development of national economies of all developed countries. The availability of opportunities for state authorities to influence the behavior patterns of economic subjects allows for the harmonious development of the national economy, supporting its various spheres and industries.

State regulation of the economy is a complex system, which at its core is a stable object that is inseparably connected with the development of economic relations in society. However, in different conditions of economic development of countries, such a system can acquire different features and specific features. At the same time, in any case, the effectiveness of the functioning of such a system is an objectively important component of ensuring the development of economic relations. This determines the importance of conducting new scientific research in this direction.

The article presents the scientific results of a theoretical study of the definition of the essence of the category "state regulation of the economy". It has been established that this definition is an integral component of economic science, namely regulation carried out by state authorities, an integral component of the development of the national economy. To specify the content of the specified category, the article considers the content of such concepts as "regulation", "state regulation". it was established that the role of state regulation in the development of social systems is paramount and irreplaceable from the point of view of ensuring their effective and stable functioning. The results of the analysis of the concepts available in scientific works for consideration of the essence of state regulation of the economy made it possible to single out a significant number of them, to establish the presence of polyvariance in the views of scientists on the content and nature of such regulation. As a result, separate approaches to the consideration of the essence of state regulation of the economy were singled out, namely: systemic approach, complex approach, functional approach, behavioral approach. The content of these approaches is also described, scientists who are their supporters are identified. Particular attention is paid to the specification of the peculiarities of state regulation of the economy as a scientific economic category.
