Competition in the labour market and the complexity of employee adaptation in the face of change require the HR manager to find new effective adaptation mechanisms. An effective mechanism of staff adaptation will allow: reducing staff turnover; reducing the time required for an employee to join the company; reducing the working time of employees involved in the adaptation process; and developing an employee's job satisfaction and positive attitude towards work. In the context of rapid development of digital technologies, the problem of combining traditional adaptation tools with modern ones is becoming more relevant. The adaptation of personnel in an organisation is limited in the time spent on integrating an employee into the team, and time is the measure of adaptation success. The goal is to review the methods and tools for the adaptation of employees in the company, to identify their characteristic features, which in the future makes it possible to compose tools for the effective passage of the adaptation process and the effective operation of the company as a whole and to strengthen competitiveness in the space of its functioning. The article is based on the analysis of definitions, grouping by types and characteristics. The article highlights the interpretation of the concept of "staff adaptation" by domestic and foreign scholars. The main methods of adaptation are presented and groups of tools are formed with respect to their characteristic features for its effective implementation, which makes it possible to adjust the mechanism of employee adaptation in advance. The article reviews the methods and tools for adaptation of personnel in modern conditions, taking into account technological progress and forming them in accordance with the characteristic features of their use. Identification of the tools for employee adaptation for a quick reaction of the company to changes and achievement of the set goals, which allows avoiding ineffective management decisions and their negative consequences for both the employee and the company, reveals the practical value of staff adaptation.
